    Prior to becoming Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CapitaLand Investment, Chee Koon was President and Group CEO of CapitaLand Group. Under his leadership, CapitaLand became one of Asia's largest diversified companies. In 2019, he orchestrated the Group’s strategic acquisition of Ascendas-Singbridge (ASB), which allowed the Group to strengthen its position in the business park, industrial and logistics segments of the market. In addition, he significantly expanded the Group’s footprint in India, making it one of CapitaLand’s core geographies. Since joining CapitaLand in 2007, he has held several appointments within the Group, which includes his role as CEO of The Ascott Limited (Ascott). Following that, he was appointed Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO), focusing on identifying growth opportunities and capital allocation across the Group.

    Chee Koon was presented with the Business China Young Achiever Award by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 2017, for his contributions towards strengthening Singapore-China relations through Ascott. In 2016, he was also conferred the prestigious National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite) by the President of the French Republic for Ascott’s contributions to France.

    Chee Koon holds a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering (Distinction) from Imperial College London, United Kingdom.

    Before becoming Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at CapitaLand Investment, Andrew served as Group CFO of CapitaLand Group from 2017 to 2021. In his current position, he oversees CapitaLand Investment’s key financial functions­—including Group Finance, Financial reporting and controls, Treasury, Tax, Risk Management, Investor Relations, Group Communications and Group Shared Services.​

    He also supervises the administrative function of the Internal Audit department and leads the Group Centre of Excellence for Sustainability.

    Prior to joining CapitaLand, Andrew worked at HSBC Bank for 12 years. While there, he served as Managing Director and Head of Southeast Asia Advisory Coverage, Real Estate and Hospitality. 

    Andrew holds a Master in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

    In his present role, Seng Chai is responsible for human capital management and development, which includes building a leadership and talent pipeline to support the organisation and businesses. He oversees CapitaLand Investment’s corporate functions including Human Resources & Administration, Legal & Secretariat and Procurement. He is also the Executive Director of CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the company.

    Prior to this role, Seng Chai was the Chief Corporate & People Officer of CapitaLand Limited, where he also oversaw the functions of Organisational Development (encompassing Corporate Social Responsibility), Group Communications and Global Shared Services & Business Process. His previous appointments within the Group included Group Chief People Officer, Group Chief Corporate Officer (CCO), Deputy CCO and Chief Human Resource Officer.

    Before joining CapitaLand in February 2008, Seng Chai was with Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd, Singapore for 12 years. He held key positions in the company which included heading its worldwide human resource organisation as well as overseeing key project implementation and strategic investment activities.

    ​Seng Chai was awarded the Master Professional Certification by the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) in December 2020 in recognition of his active contributions to the HR industry. He holds an honours degree in Civil & Structural Engineering and a Master of Science in Industrial & System Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS).

    Prior to accepting the role of Senior Executive Director at CapitaLand Investment in 2021, Manohar held the same role at CapitaLand Group. He assists the Group CEO in strategic projects, group-wide initiatives and CapitaLand's businesses in India and business/industrial parks, as well as providing oversight to data centre operations. He also oversees the Group Centre of Excellence for Customer Solutions and Innovation. Before joining CapitaLand in 2019, Manohar was President of Ascendas and Deputy Group CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge, a post he held for six years.

    Before joining Ascendas, Manohar was CEO of JTC Corporation, Singapore government's lead agency for planning, promoting and developing industrial infrastructure and facilities. Prior to that, Manohar spent many years with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) rising to the position of Deputy Managing Director. While there, he played a key role in the development of several sectors in Singapore's economy and led EDB's operations in the Americas and Europe. Between 1994 and 1999 Manohar was at Preussag SEA, where as Managing Director, was responsible for developing the group's business in Southeast Asia.

    Concurrent with his CapitaLand’s responsibilities, Manohar is Special Advisor to the Chairman of Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). 

    Manohar holds a Master in Naval Architecture from the University of Hamburg, Germany. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School in 2006.

    Formerly President of CapitaLand Financial of CapitaLand Group, Jonathan is currently CEO, Fund Management at CapitaLand Investment. In this position, he oversees CapitaLand Investment's listed fund platform, the asset operating platforms in Singapore and Malaysia as well as its India business.

    CapitaLand has listed Singapore’s first property trusts in retail, industrial, office and hospitality sectors as well as trusts focusing on China and India. Its six listed trusts have total assets under management (AUM) of S$55.3 billion as of 30 June 2021. India, a growing market for CapitaLand, is targeted to represent S$7 billion of AUM for the Group by 2024. 

    Prior to joining CapitaLand in July 2019, Jonathan was the Chief Operating Officer and Group Chief Financial Officer of Ascendas-Singbridge (ASB) Group. Being with ASB since its inception in 2015, he was concurrently the Chief Investment Officer and Head of Real Estate Funds for the first two years of the company. Before that, Jonathan was with Ascendas Group - serving as CEO, India Operations, 2004 to 2007; CEO, India Funds, 2007 to 2014; CEO, India from 2010 to 2015; and Assistant Group CEO (Funds and India) from 2012 to 2015. 

    ​In his real estate career spanning since 1992, Jonathan also held positions with Lendlease Group, Tan Chong Group and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.  

    Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management (Honours) and a Master of Science in Project Management, National University of Singapore.

    As CEO of Private Equity Real Estate, Simon will be responsible for driving the growth of real estate AUM and FUM for CLI’s private equity real estate business.

    Simon has over 23 years of experience in real estate across USA, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Simon was the Managing Director, Global Chief Investment Officer and Head of U.S. Equity for BlackRock Real Estate; responsible for the overall investment strategy and performance of global real estate portfolios, including real estate funds, investment vehicles and research worldwide.

    Prior to BlackRock, Simon was co-founder, director and global CEO of MGPA, with real estate funds under management across Europe and Asia of US$14 billion. Prior to taking a career break last year, Simon held the role of President, Hawaii of The Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC) based in USA and directed the master planning, development, construction, sales, marketing, operations and marketing activities of the 60-acre partially built master plan called Ward Village.

    Simon has experience working and living in Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai.

    As CEO of Private Equity Alternative Assets, Patrick will be responsible for building and growing CLI’s private fund business in alternative assets such as private credit, real estate infrastructure including data centres and social infrastructure, and other fund products that will expand CLI’s unlisted fund portfolios.

    Patrick has 20 years of private equity, and real estate infrastructure investment and operational experience. Prior to joining CLI, Patrick was with Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) for 12 years and has held a number of senior positions, including Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield’s global construction company and Managing Director of an Australian natural gas transmission and distribution portfolio, where he was responsible for the restructuring and ultimate sale of the group. Most recently, he was Managing Partner and Head of Asia, with responsibility for Brookfield’s investment and asset management activities across the region. He also previously held various senior positions in the infrastructure financing and development sector in Canada. 

    In his role leading Brookfield’s Asia business in Japan, China and Korea across real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy platforms and private equity, Patrick spent four years working and living in Japan and travelled extensively across Asia to grow his network and established trusting relationships with investors and partners.

    Before assuming his present position, Kevin was CEO of Lodging for the CapitaLand Group. Concurrently, he also oversaw the Group Centre of Excellence for Digital and Technology.

    Under the lodging portfolio, The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has grown to be one of the leading international lodging owner-operators with a portfolio that spans 200 cities across over 30 countries in Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA. In the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Kevin continued to drive significant growth for Ascott—adding a record 14,200 new units across 71 properties in 2020.  In December 2019, Kevin played an instrumental role in merging the Ascott Residence Trust (ART) with the Ascendas Hospitality Trust, creating the largest hospitality trust in Asia-Pacific. 

    Kevin joined Ascott China in 2007 and was based there for over 10 years. In China, he served in several roles such as Regional GM for South & East China, Vice President for Asset Management and Vice President for Corporate Services, before moving to assume the role of MD for North Asia where he oversaw Ascott’s investments and operations in China, Japan and Korea.

    Before Kevin joined Ascott, he spent 7 years with Accenture, one of Fortune 500’s largest global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing companies. At Accenture, he worked on various systems implementation projects in the telecommunications and high-technology industries in both Singapore and Australia.

    Kevin was awarded the prestigious Medal of Commendation at the NTUC Singapore May Day Awards 2020 for his strong advocate for productivity improvement and upgrading of employees’ capabilities to ensure a dynamic and digitally savvy workforce. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from National University of Singapore and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

    Tze Shyang is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CapitaLand Investment (China). He oversees CapitaLand Investment’s business in China, including investment, fund management as well as commercial management.  

     

    Tze Shyang has held several management positions within the Group. Prior to his current role, he successively served as Chief Investment Officer and CEO, Investment & Portfolio Management from June 2015 to Aug 2021, responsible for Investment and Portfolio Management in China, during which period, he led a series of important investments in China. He was concurrently Regional General Manager, West China from June 2015 to March 2018 and oversaw residential and integrated developments in the region. Before that, he was Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Township Pte. Ltd. (formerly known as Surbana Land Pte. Ltd.) from April 2010 and took on an additional role as City General Manager for Chengdu from Aug 2013. 

     

    Tze Shyang started his career in real estate in 1997. Prior to joining Surbana Corporation, Tze Shyang was an Executive Engineer in the Housing and Development Board of Singapore (“HDB”), and he also helmed HDBuilders.com, a construction portal offering e-collaboration and e-procurement services for the real estate industry in Singapore, playing an important role in the development of online bidding and procurement of construction materials in Singapore. 

     

    Tze Shyang holds a Master of Engineering (First Class Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London. He also obtained his Executive MBA with Honours from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

    Gerald is Chief Executive Officer, International. He oversees the growth and asset management of CapitaLand Investment’s real estate portfolio in developed markets outside Singapore namely USA, Europe, Australia, Japan and Korea. 

    Prior to this appointment, Gerald had served in several key positions in CapitaLand Group over the years, including his role as Deputy Chief Investment Officer where he led the group’s expansion into new markets. He was also Chief Investment Officer at Ascott where he helped leapfrog the growth of the platform via entry into new markets, growth of fee income as well as mergers & acquisitions in USA and Australia. Gerald’s role at Ascott included a posting in Shanghai where he headed investment and business development in North Asia.

    Gerald played an instrumental role in the listing of Ascott Residence Trust back in 2006 when he assumed the role as Head of Investment & Asset Management. He also spearheaded the acquisition of several properties in Australia, China, Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam.

    Gerald began his career in Sembcorp Industries where he was the Head of Strategy & Business Development for the Environmental Management business unit. During his tenure, he looked into infrastructure deals including waste to energy and recycling projects across Asia.

    Gerald holds an MBA with Distinction from Imperial College Business School, UK on the Raffles–Chevening Scholarship, as well as a Second Class (Upper) Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore on the SembCorp Industries scholarship.

    Kng Hwee Tin is CEO, Finance & Corporate Services, China, CapitaLand Investment (“CLI”), overseeing the functions of Finance, Treasury, Tax, Risk & Compliance, Legal & Secretariat, Procurement, Shared Services and Technology & Digital Innovation for the Group’s business in China across CapitaLand Investment and CapitaLand Development. She is concurrently CEO, China Capital Markets, responsible for tapping onshore capital for CLI’s investment deals internationally, as well as supporting the growth of investment management business in China.

    Prior to joining CapitaLand in October 2019, Hwee Tin was with OCBC Bank for more than 30 years, where her last appointment was the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Wing Hang Bank (China) Limited. Based in Shanghai, she was responsible for the strategic and operational management of the bank. In 2016, she led the merger of OCBC Bank (China) and Wing Hang Bank (China) Limited.

    During her tenure with OCBC, she established its premier banking business, implementation of Basel II requirements for credit risk, launch of the bank’s risk policies framework, as well as execution of key initiatives to strengthen the board’s governance.

    Her financial industry experience spans a wide spectrum of banking activities, and across both international and China practices. She is equipped with strong cognizance of cross-cultural nuances.

    Hwee Tin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore, where she was accorded the Saw Gold Medal in Finance in recognition of her outstanding achievements. She completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 2016 and an Executive Development Programme at Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

    Lynette is the Chief Sustainability Officer of CapitaLand Investment, a role she also held at CapitaLand Group. She is responsible for formulating and integrating the Group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and policies into its business and operations, helping to deliver long-term economic value to stakeholders.

    Lynette joined CapitaLand Group in 2007, serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director of CapitaLand Commercial Trust Management Limited, the Manager of CapitaLand Commercial Trust (CCT)1. Under her leadership, CCT became the largest office landlord in Singapore. She managed a prestigious commercial portfolio, growing its assets from nearly S$4 billion in 2007 to more than S$10 billion in 2017, resulting in a total return of more than 120% (notwithstanding the global financial crisis), in addition to winning multiple awards for corporate governance, investor relations and environmental sustainability.

    Following CCT, Lynette was CEO, Commercial and Chief Business Innovation Officer of CapitaLand Group, where she developed a global office operating platform leveraging innovations relating to the future of work. In 2019, she helped lead the integration of CapitaLand and Ascendas-Singbridge during their merger. Before joining CapitaLand, Lynette held pivotal roles in international real estate acquisitions, fund management and banking & finance for over 15 years: CEO, Korea at Ascendas Pte Ltd; Director at the London, New York, Chicago and Asian offices of LaSalle Investment Management; and Senior Officer at Standard Chartered Bank.

    Lynette holds a Master of Science in Real Estate and a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management from National University of Singapore (NUS). She was conferred The Public Service Medal, 2021 by the Prime Minister's Office, Singapore for her contributions to the public service.

    ​Before becoming Managing Director, Group Strategic Investment at CapitaLand Investment, Janine served as the Head of Group Strategic Investment for CapitaLand Group since 2019. She was the deal lead for various initiatives within CapitaLand Limited (CL) – CL’s maiden USA multifamily portfolio acquisition, S$11 billion milestone acquisition of Ascendas-Singbridge in 2019, as well as the restructuring of CL and listing of CapitaLand Investment. In her current position, Janine will continue to oversee the inorganic growth opportunities for CapitaLand Investment and lead the merger & acquisition for platform acquisition across Singapore and selected international markets, as well as oversee other corporate actions and corporate finance related works. Janine has been with the CapitaLand Group for more than 13 years and has assumed different positions or functions within the Group during this period – this includes heading up CapitaLand International (USA), overseeing Ascott corporate asset management encompassing lodging M&A initiatives and fund management work, and covering investor relations for the Ascott Residence Trust. She has more than 15 years of experience in real estate, finance and investment management.

    Michelle is General Counsel of CapitaLand Investment. She joined the CapitaLand Group in 2000 as a legal officer and became General Counsel in 2013. In this role, she is responsible for the delivery of legal and corporate secretariat services to the businesses of the Group, working in close partnership with all business and functional leaders of the group. She is part of the leadership team responsible for corporate governance for the Group. As Company Secretary, Michelle plays a key role in supporting the effectiveness of the Board and its committees, including facilitating interaction between the Board and Management in reporting the organisation’s performance and key decisions.

    Michelle is a lawyer by profession. She was admitted to the Rolls of Advocates & Solicitors, Singapore as well as the State Bar of California, USA. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from University of London.
